Orthosiphon stamineus Benthis a medicinal plant in the form of wet trunked plants upright. This plant is known by various terms such as: kidney tea plants / java tea (UK), giri-giri angry (Sumatra), remujung (Central Java and East Java) and songot koneng (Madura). Plants Mustache cats come from tropical regions of Africa, then spread to Asia and Australia.

Local name: Mustache cat (Malay - Sumatra), cat whiskers (Sunda), remujung (Java), a salaseyan, songkot koceng (Madura). Whiskers cat species found in Java is O. aristatus, O.thymiflorus, O. petiolaris and O. tementosus var. glabratus. Clones cat's whiskers are grown in Indonesia is white and purple flowering clones.

Leaves are wet or dry cat whiskers are used as materials beneficial drugs. In Indonesia, the dried leaves used (crude drug) as drugs that facilitate the expenditure of urine (diuretic) while in India to treat arthritis. Public use cat's whiskers as a traditional medicine as a cough relief efforts gout, colds and constipation.
